Fleur Elise in The New Yorker

This past spring, Fleur Elise led a floral design class with actor, writer and director Emily Mortimer and The New Yorker writer Michael Schulman.

The class was wonderfully described in Michael’s Talk of the Town piece (August 9th issue) about Emily and her new series, The Pursuit of Love.

Emily posted on Instagram:

“Do yourself a favor, arrange some flowers with Elise…”

What People Are Saying….

Best Floral Design class I’ve ever taken...
— @Ceceolisa
What a wonderful, engaging and fun flower design class. Elise is that rare presenter who combines knowledge, insights and encouragement in a class that caters to all ages, talents and interests. I’ll never look at a flower arrangement the same again.
— BEN HARTLEY, Executive director, The National Arts Club
do yourself a favor - arrange some flowers with Elise in her backyard.
— Emily Mortimer, actor, director

Elise’s flower arranging workshop is such a joyful experience. She is a skillful, supportive teacher and her love for flowers is contagious
— ELEANOR
My daughter and I had a great time in Elise’s class. A week after, my daughter was arranging the bouquet and loved putting it all into practice. It’s definitely going to up the look of our usual bodega bouquets!

Fleur Elise Bkln

At Fleur Elise we believe that working with flowers is both creative and calming.  Our classes and workshops are highly interactive (even online) and provide a framework of design principles which students can use forever.

Our floral designs are all about movement and inspired by principles of Ikebana (Japanese flower design.) We bring our deep love of dance, architecture, and site-specific art and long experience working with choreographers to create “whimsical and sophisticated”  designs focused on unusual floral textures. Called an iconoclast for bringing dance into unexpected places, Fleur Elise similarly creates the unexpected and helps you to make unique creations with flowers.
