“do yourself a favor - arrange some flowers with Elise in her backyard. ❤️ 🌺” - Emily Mortimer on Instagram

“What a Wonderful course! Elise teaches so much in an hour and 1/2....from care of flowers to maximise "shelf life", use of tools, flower characteristics, but best of all step by step encouragement as we built our arrangements. There was personalized instruction with lots of positive reinforcement so I was willing to try things that were out of my boring comfort zone. I feel much more confident playing with flowers now. Thanks Elise-- I've just signed up for another of your classes.”

"We really enjoyed Elise’s class very much and we had a lot of fun! You had some great tips and advice and we learned quite a few very useful guidelines and principles of floral arrangement."

“Fabulous class! Need more like this please!” - student at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

From a recent student:

I recently took a private lesson with Elise and had such a lovely time. She was very quick to respond to my booking request and was very patient in working out a time that fit both of our busy schedules.

I've been wanting to take a flower arranging lesson for a long time and learning from Elise was a great introduction. She and I both share dance backgrounds and she taught me that choreography isn't just for the stage.

We started the class with personal histories and a short lesson on introductory concepts. Once I had that under my belt, we jumped right in. This was a little intimidating at first, but Elise was such a great instructor that it didn't even matter. She left room for me to be creative and guided me when she saw the need.

An added bonus was that Elise arranged for the class to be in the outdoor seating area of a local dessert spot. In addition to making an arrangement that I got to take home, we also created smaller arrangements for each table. I had such a great time and can't wait to continue arranging flowers. Highly recommend a lesson with Elise!

Our Approach…

We teach the basics of floral design from a Japanese and dance perspective in this creative 90 minute class (in-person, 75 minutes online.)

You will walk away with a beautiful Flower arrangement and/or flower crown, an understanding of floral design fundamentals, and inspiration for your next flower design!

For in-person classes we supply all materials.

For On-line classes, you can purchase flowers easily/locally. You only need 3 kinds - 2 floral and 1 greenery. Focus on textures!. Get flowers you like!

IF you can’t get flowers, use what you have - dried, paper, silk, herbs…or just objects that can stand in a container (any container will do!)

For flower crowns you’ll need some thin wire and ribbon.

We keep all our classes small to ensure individual attention and interactivity.

Give yourself a peaceful break and learn a life skill that will help you create a beautiful arrangement with flowers from anywhere.
